 Amsterdam - 14mb rather than 20mb....

I used to have the full 20MB and since a few months I can't get over 14mb in the good days.... I'm close to one of the central in A'dam: De afstand vanaf uw postcode naar de telefooncentrale is naar schatting: 1063 meter. The same splitter and cables that worked when I had 20mb are still in place. (trying switching everything with no luck) ADSL line status Operational ADSL standard G992_5_A Upstream rate 760 Kb Downstream rate 13636 Kb Attenuation Near End : 22.9 (dB) Far End : 6.7 (dB) SNR margin Near End : 8 (dB) Far End : 8 (dB) HEC count 2390726 Firmware 0xe200314 15 min ES counter 0 CRC errors 64563 1 day ES counter 0 Also, a speedcheck on orange says I should get 20mb (indication only I guess) I'm considering downgrading the fw, but I'm unsure if it will help at all. I did try reset/power cycle and the usual but I can't get higher than 14mb/760K I would also consider replacing the wanadoo box with another ADSL2+wireless router but the ones with an VoIP port are quite expensive. Don't want to loose the ability to give land line calls through wanadoo's VoIP rather than skype or others. Don't worry about answering in Dutch, I will manage reading it. Sorry I can't write it. Wat me in je statistieken opvalt is de lage upstream. Die zou ondanks je downstream toch op 1020 Kb moeten zitten. Heb je een eigen ISRA aansluiting in de meterkast of moet je die met b.v. andere bewoners delen? Kies BBcode image, plak in handtekening.

Heb je toevallig geen slechte kabels gebruikt? Controller je bekabeling en connectoren. Een andere ADSL2+ modem plaatsen heeft geen nut als je ook telefonie hebt van Orange. Uit vele tests die gebruikers hebben onderworpen aan andere ADSL2+ modems blijkt dat de livebox een betere verbinding maakt dan alle andere merken. |

Een reset van de livebox op een rustig moment wil ook wel eens helpen. Bijvoorbeeld 's ochtends vroeg of juist 's avonds laat. Nice pictures btw!

Just to make sure, I moved my livebox right next to the ISRA box, I have a tiny 5cm cable in between and I get the exact same (low) speed. So it's not a cable lengh issue. What's next ;-) ? Ralph Amsterdam Wild Nightlife PhotoBlog: http://www.digitalfrog.nl

Well, it could be you are further away then 1063 meters if I look at the 22.9dB. However, your upstream still should be 1024 or 1020 but 760 is way to low. I've got 1020 with a distance of 1900 meters to the centrale so you should be at least even with that. I would call the helpdesk and complaint or let KPN take a linetest. Greetings, Richard.
