 livebox breaks local connection (continuously)

Hi, Sorry I'm writing english - just starting to learn Nederlands. I bought a ADSL extra (20mbps) subscription at Orange with livebox wifi. Everything seemed to be fine at the beginning but after a while modem started to break connection via wifi/lan. It happens daily/ever 2 days. I just loose the connection to the internet, cannot connect to the router or other hosts in the network. The only thing that helps is unplugging the router from electicity and plugging it again. Then router restarts, gives every host new ip address and everything is fine for a while. I tried to work without dhcp - same problem occurs. I'd be grateful for any help. I don't even know how to run any diagnostics of the problem. T. |

probably your ethernet ports are going down... how old is your livebox ? you could try a so called 'hard reset'... unplug the power push the reset button (located underneath the livebox at the powerplug, written RST next to it) while you're pushing the reset button plug the power back in release when the 1st, 3th and 5th led's are burning constantly (happens about 20 seconds after you plugged in the power) wait 2 minutes en then try again... it's also possible that the livebox gets stuck (loopt vast)... that happens when you download with torrents, because of the many connections it opens in the livebox. the livebox can't handle it and just freezes (best word for it) also happens with skype... |

no, there's a solution... if you're using torrents... in your torrent client, set your max. connections not higher than 50 |
