Hello everyone. My Orange ADSL Extra internet has been very slow for the last 5-6 days. When I reset the Livebox, it again works fast. But after 5 minutes, internet really slows down and sometimes it completely stops. So i have to reset the Livebox every 15minutes. Does anyone know why this is happening ? Is there a central problem or is it about my connection ? THANKS IN ADVANCE ! Regards. |

Thank you for the answer. I tried the test couple of times and my results are around 1-3 mbps [it used to be 6-10 mbps]. Distance is 1961 meter. "Ask for the SDSL bundeling offer at your provider or account manager." My Livebox is connected to a router. I share my connection with a laptop in my house. I use the desktop. I installed both Adware and UniblueSpyEraser on laptop and desktop, it found trojan on laptop, and I deleted it. I scanned anoter 3 times and cleaned everything. But its still veryyy slow. It seems to get slower when laptop connects at the same time. I added MAC filters so I dont think anyone else is using my connection. Is it possible that Orange is having some repair or improvement in my area ? Thanks again  |

You're upstream rate is ok. If it was not, that would indicate cable problems. The downstream is fairly low though. 3304 kbits should give you a download of aprox. 330 kb/sec. The attenuation is also high : 39.8 db. This indicates a distance in copper resistence of aprox 2.17 km. You're downstream should be somewhat higher. I am beginning to suspect the livebox or it's main adapter. Have you talked to the heldpdesk ? |
