Wat is er mogelijk met het modem en hoe doe je het? Hoe kom je in het configuratiescherm? Heeft deze router wireless? Waar vind je wat in de schermen? Kun je nog extra dingen instellen, bijv. via telnet? Zijn er problemen bekend met dit modem? en hoe los je ze op?

Hi ! I plan to switch from my current (cable provider) to Online. I plan to configure Huawei HG655d in Bridge mode and install behind it a TP_Link WDR-4300 with OpenWRT for better security, gigabit ethernet, etc. I saw a really good tutorial on configuring HG655d in Bridge mode (the fact that Online decided unlike other providers not to hide the settings for Bridge mode is to be appreciated) but it was also mentioned that configuring HG655d in Bridge mode will not allow having VoIP functionality anymore. My current cable modem still allows in Bridge mode to use a classic analog telephone to work with the cable operator VOIP system. I would like to hear opinions what other people that configured their HG655d in Bridge mode are using for their VOIP and if they are happy with it. - Should I replace my current Siemens Gigaset analog phone with one that knows SIP ? - Or should I buy a separate VoIP bridge or telephone adapter (and in this case which one would you recommend ?) - Is there any way to keep VoIP functionality of the HG655d while configuring it as bridge ? - once I configure HG655d in Bridge mode what are the options to reverse to the mode as delivered by Online - perhaps a hardware reset button or the modem gets some private IP address trough which I can still access it and reconfigure it back in Router mode. Ik wou graag zoveel reacties/info mogelijk ontvangen, ik kan wel Nederlands lezen maar schrijven heb ik nog niet onder de knie. |

Indien je echt iets beters wil hebben waarom koop je dan niet een kwaliteitsmodem? Ik kan je niets vertellen over VoIP en bridge mode, ik bel gewoon via een analoge lijn. Hoe dan ook, het Huawei modem heeft een reset knop. In de FAQ van deze site staat een link, hoe je de VoIP gegevens uit de Huawei kan halen. Misschien kan nog een medeforummer rapporteren, hoe televisie van Online met een ander modem werkt. Thanks for the suggestion, the reason I want to keep the Huawei HG655d as modem only is because I want OpenWRT or DD-WRT in my router (almost every week lately I read about stock vendor router firmware found to have vulnerabilities or backdoors), but the ASDL/VDSL part is not well supported in OpenWRT which forces me to keep the VDSL part in the Huawei. Regarding Online TV, I understood to be DVB-T, not IPTV, I think the modem should have no influence on the television ? |

There are no VOIP functions possible in bridge mode with the Huawei. Simple as that. Cable modems function is a different way. Why do want to use bridge mode?
